liability on mortgageIn Georgia if I signed a "Quit Claim Deed" giving my share of my parents home to my mother, can I be held responsible for the mortgage she took out shortly before her death? Her will gives the house to my sister who is living in the house so I'm in no hurry to have the estate settled. |

| If your name's no longer on the Deed, and your name was not on the mortgage, then there's no way the creditor can come after you for the debt. They'll go after the estate to try and recover the money. |
