loans during divorceWhat is the name of your state? Wisconsin My husband and I are going through a divorce and he recently was approved for a motorcylce loan from the credit union where we have a joint account for 20 years. When I called them about it, they stated that he indicated he was divorced on the application and that I probably won't be held liable for the debt. I asked them for something in writing stating that I will be held harmless and they have refused. I need to know what my rights are but have been unable to find out what they are. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Don't bet your credit on their reply, depending on how the loan was written and whether or not its secured or cross-collateralized to that joint account. If you're divorcing, that account really should be closed out or your name taken off of it.
