Without access to specific (private) databases, you are basically on your own to try to get the employer info.

Some options:
1) If someone is home while he is working, call then. Ask for the debtor. When told not home, try to finagle work info... "I was calling him about a possible job (if you know type of work)"... "Old friend from out of town, would really like to get hold of him".... etc.

2) If you know the type of work, you could also call some of the related employers and ask if they know him, etc. (works best in small town).

3) Get a credit report. Look for car or loan financed at credit union.

4) Do the old credit card pretext and ask for place of employment for verification.

5) Use a trapline and get him to call your trap from work.

Be creative.... none of these 'pretexts' are illegal as long as you are not getting financial information (then would be a violation of 15 USC 1692).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

We use to have a pretext where you called the debtor (make sure you are not caller ID) and giving them a speel about having been pre-approved for a credit card, low interest rate, blah-blah, and that all we need to do is verify that they are employed before sending the card out. A lot of times, the debtor was chomping at the bit to get this new, low rate Platinum/Gold card and would freely give employment information.

As for the credit report, in todays hightened sense (false!) of concern for identity theft, it is virtually impossible for someone to get another's credit file without valid reasons.

One other thing you might consider would be a 'debtor exam'. This is where you bring the debtor to court and he is required to answer your questions under oath. Or, some states allow post-judgment depositions, etc. I would suggest you contact your court (or library for a book) on how to enforce your judgment in your state.
