medical billsWhat is the name of your state? nebraska my daughter was put on an independent living program by her juvinile parole officer. then she went to prison, when she got out of prison she was 18 and lived on her own and was raising a family of her own. she had a drug overdose and was taken to the hospital in an ambulace. she is now back in prison. she recieved some medical bills that had been turned over to a collection agent i called them and told them that she was back in prison now they told me i am responsible for these bills. since she was on her own and rasing her own family do i have to pay these bills. |

| Your daughter was of age when she incurred those bills, so you have NO responsibility for HER medical bills. She was on her own.. and, according to NE law, the head of a family - she's responsible for her own bills. There's nothing they can do to collect while she's in prison. They could sue her and get a judgment which will sit out there until she's out of prison. If she gets a job, her wages could then be garnished.
