While I was married, my husband bought a car, on his own, with his money. He then told me later that he sold the car. However, we are now divorced and I have been recieving harrassing phone calls from collection agency about the car. It seems, not only was it repossesed, but my ex-husband had forged my signature on the car. I have recieved a copy of the papers and it is most certainly a forgery. However, it is appearing as my debt on my credit report stopping me from purchasing my own car and other credit problems. How can I get this off my credit report and can I press charges against him for forgery? This is in Virginia.
