name problem since divorce

What is the name of your state? OH

( divorce filed in MS)

Problem, my ex and I have the same name, same 1st and last name. Has caused confusion with my credit. How do I have my name changed back to my maiden and how do I verify to the credit reporting agencies that he is not me and visa-versa?

his negative credit stuff is showing on my report and it is stuff that has happened since our divorce 4 years ago

Your names may be the same, but your Social Security numbers are NOT ! That's the key to the credit report mix-ups. The CRA's screw this up ALL the time because they are lax in their procedures. They see the same name and if you're first on the list, YOU get the booby prize of HIS debt.

Dispute every one of them as NOT MINE. Do you each have middle initials ?? If so, make sure that appears on your credit reports too.

The CRA's just got slapped for not doing enough to properly investigate disputes, so you'll have some leverage.
