Old Debts

What is the name of your state? PA

I have discovered that old written off debts due to past mistakes are now resurfacing. Is this legal? I paid long and hard for my past mistakes, took great strides to reestablish my credit and now some one other than the original debtor who apparently purchased an old debt is trying to get me to pay these and ruining my credit. I haven't had any problems until recently and then what a shock when I saw my credit report 2 days ago.
IS THIS LEGAL in Pennsylvania?
Any help will be appreciated.

When was the repo ?
When did you default on the loan ?

Did you receive notice of the sale, a notice of the deficiency amount - any papers regarding the repo at all ??

SOL for collecting on a deficiency from a repo, per the UCC is 2 years if you didn't get all the propert legal notices, and 4 years if you did get the proper paperwork.
