old medical debt

What is the name of your state? washington state
What is the statute on an old medical bill in washington
state? I have an agency trying to collect a debt that is 4 years
old next month. I didnt even know it existed but wonder if it is goin got be an old debt and that is why they are now calling?
I dont know what med debt is considered open ended, written contract ?? I couldnt figure it out.
