partner is stealingKansas My business partner (and so called friend) of 8 years has stolen over $26,000 from our company. (It is a partnership) It began with small withdrawals that she was going to pay back, etc... . She has filed personal bankruptcy more than once and is constantly getting into more financial trouble. Now she has even begun putting charges on MY personal credit card without consent or authorization! She took my social security number from business documents and memorized it and uses it to get to my personal credit card information. I finally got her name taken off of the bank accounts so she can no longer write checks from the company checkbook to cover personal bills, however, I can't get her to pay the money back that she has taken. I know it seems that I should cut all ties, however it is more complicated than that. I need this business to succeed and she is a large part of it. It would be difficult to replace her quickly without our small business suffering to the point that it becomes bankrupt before our dispute is settled. I need to know what legal action I can take to get the money paid back quickly and make sure that it is not allowed to happen again! I know that she is guilty of everything from embezzlement to identity theft. I just don't know what course of action would be in my best interest. Please help! |

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.
