Charged off accounts can remain on your credit report for 7 years. Come back in a couple years and we will help you.

STATE: OREGON STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS (IN YEARS) Open Acct.: 6 Sale of Goods: 6 (4 yrs UCC Transaction) Written Contract: 6 Domestic Judgment: 10 - Renewable at 10 Foreign Judgment: 10 I cut & pasted the above from: http://www.fidelityinfocorp.com/state_list.html If you're asking if they can come after you to collect past due debt, I think it depends on what type of debt it is and whether the SOL has expired on it. But I am just learning all of this stuff, so I don't want to give you the wrong info. There's lots of info on the SOL on the board, and quite a few "experts". http://community-2.webtv.net/Y-Chat/WhyChatsCredit/ -- is a good place for information on SOL, etc. Good luck.

Whirlygig is learning fast. You need to know when you last paid the orginal creditor. If it's been more that 6 years they sure can pursue collection activity. I wouldn't monket with my credit reports or do anything to call attention to yourself until you're sure the debts are out of statute.
