pending wage garnishment - continued....

Hey, more bad news (I thinK) - I today received in the mail something titled "Memorandum of Costs After Judgment, Acknowledgement of Credit, and Declaration of Accured Interest" - the attorney's name is at the top and it is directed to the Superior Court in my town**************in line 4 "Acknowlement of Credit" there is an amount - this letter is dated 7/19/02 - can anyone tell me if this is the first step in the wage garnishment process or simple the start of the "charge off" process - I'm so confused and frustrated - please help!!!!

You have apparently received form MC012 (copy can be found at:

So, in looking at the form, line 4 should show your being credited for any money paid (or collected by seizure, garnishment, etc.).

This form is used to bring the court current to costs incurred by the creditor (to be added to the judgment) and the amounts recovered (to be subtracted from the judgment). Upon acceptance, the court will adjust the outstanding amount accordingly.

And though this doesn't necessarily precede a garnishment action, it certainly should put you on notice that the creditor is getting ready to do SOMETHING and hasn't just forgotten about you.
