| i live in ohio. on two different occassions my husband has obtained credit cards i knew nothing about until they were maxed out. he has a gambling problem and receives cash advances with the credit cards. how can i protect myself from his debt that i can not control? |

| I live in north carolina-- my parent went through the same situation recently. The only thing you must worry about-- did you co-sign for any of your husband's credit cards? If you didn't,you are in good shape. The law here in this state says that creditors cannot go after you because you are not legally obligated to pay the debt. But if you did co sign for the credit cards, you may be stuck with the debt and have to pay on it. |
