remove my name from a cc

My mother & I have a credit card, I want to remove myself from her card.

Pay off the credit card, cancel it, and have your mother get one in her name alone. While there is an outstanding balance, the CC company does not have to remove your liability for paying on the card.

Are you (a) an "authorized user"; or
(b) a "joint account holder"?

If (b) is the correct answer, see above reply. If (a) is the correct answer, then you just need to call the CC company and tell them you want to be 'off' their card.
