Scammed

What is the name of your state? California

My name is Jacob. I recently was scammed by a company called Ambassador Texttiles. They sent me a check and I was to cash it and western union them the $ and I could keep 10%. Sounds too good to be true huh? Well I called the bank on the check(mellon national) and checking to see if the check was good. They said it was so I then proceeded to my bank (Wamu) and they cashed it for me and I sent them the $ via western union.... So now my account is overdrawn $1000 and Im disabled and on SSI. There is no way I will ever be able to pay this. Ive emailed the mellon bank as well as Wamu but I have yet to hear from them. Not to mention congress passed the Economic Stimulus payment act which lets people who dont normally get refunds to receive up to $300! But I probably wont get it due to my situation... I am curious as to what I should do... Any help would be appreciated! Thank you and God Bless!

Very common scam. Your ONLY recourse is to make arrangements to reimburse the bank. If you don't, they will sue you to recover the money they lost.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

You may be in legal trouble also with this scheme. It would be hard to argue that you didn't know something was not right with this situation...

I have seen story's like this on our local news. After they do the story they ask if anyone can help by donating money. A few days later the news team will do a short follow up and thank everyone who donated. There are some good people out there.
