SOL for PA and NJ

what are the sol for nj and pa as far as how long collectors can come after you and when can i write letters to the credit agencies to remove these from my credit. I heard it was 7 years

none of that makes sense to me i have no clue where anything remotely connected to the sol on credit reports is..can you point me in the right direction
