What is the name of your state? Michigan.
My wife has four department store type credit cards with less than $500.00 on each of them and I did not co-apply for them with her. The accounts are months overdue but collection agencies have not contacted us yet. Can I be held responsible for the debt? Can the delinquent payment affect my credit? Can collection agencies go after joint savings/checking accounts for payment or put a lien on properties?

We all go through life with our on credit report. If your name isn't on the accounts, they should not show on your reports. If they do, you're going to make some money. You are not responsible in the sense that your wages may get garnished or you get sued ,etc. but, they can go after joint assets.
