Statue of limitiations on credit card accounts

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Can you tell me what the statue of limitation is for a credit card to show up on my credit before I can ask for it to be legally removed from my credit report?

Seven years plus 180 days from the date of first default after which the account was not brought current for most consumer credit checks.
