What is the name of your state? COLORADO!

A collection agency contacted me via mail today regarding an apparent bad check I passed in 1996 or 1997 for about $5.00 (They of course want $100 ;))

I'm curious - are they too late to sue me for this? My credit is flawless other than this, and I'm not overly concerned about it as I don't plan on getting a loan in the forseeable future. But, if they can sue me for it, $100 would be a reasonable price to get this off the table.

I tried LexisNexis to find the SoL but I couldn't make heads or tails of it all.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'll have to check, not certain of the collection agency.

Wonder if a bad check is considered an "Open account" or a "Written contract" ?
