student loan-"other" fees & cost

What is the name of your state? Loan was taken out in WI

couple of questions. on my credit report the initial loan was through GLHE opened 4/95 date of last activity 1/98 and date reported 10/02 balance $0 because it states account transferred or sold-closed account. However, the account is now under US dept of education-Collection account student loan. Date opened -4/95 date of last activity 9/98 date reported-updated 10/02, but on another report it shows 9/02.

I have been in contact to ask for detailed information regarding the "other" fees & costs because with each letter that I get that amount changes and I actually wrote several times to the regional director with letters from her where my dispute is not even recoginized. The interest is adding up but it makes me mad that if I have a dispute and have mailed the dispute w/in the 30 days that they should be able to let me know what the "other" costs are. Now I have another person from Dept of Ed stating the same info.

When will this come off? If I pay the amount can I deduct the interest on taxes? Why won't they let me know what the detailing of the "other' costs are. Those are rising too.
