Stupid Corp Card MistakeWhat is the name of your state? I live in Texas. Here's the situation. I was issued a corporate credit card and in addition to using it for business purposes, I used it for personal charges as well. I know this was stupid and irresponsible and I'm trying to take responsibilty for this. I'm paying off the debt, but a portion of this debt is reaching 180 days past due and I'm told that if it hits the 180 day mark, it will be charged off and sent to an attorney for collection. Although I am totally liable for this debt, my company receives a bonus from the card issuer and this bonus is affected if items are charged off. I'm really scared that I'm going to get fired over this. Can the credit card company contact my employer and notify them of the charge off? I'm just not sure how this works. Should I talk to my manager and explain the situation and hopefully cushion the blow?? Thanks for your help! |

| A portion of the debt ?? How can only a portion be reaching the charge-off point ? Sounds to me like you'd best come clean with your boss NOW and at least let him/her know that you are attempting to clear the debt.
