Sued by the Bank

Texas---

I am being sued by my bank because I endorsed the back of a check that was written by someone to someone else(not me) and the girl who wrote it stopped payment on it. I'm being held responsible for the check. It was $900. Am I held 100% responsible for the check? Can either of the other 2 people be held responsible aswell?

you know what that sounds like? I dont understand who the check was from, and who it was for. Why did you endorse a check that wasnt meant for you?

I endorsed the back of the check because I trusted my friends...I was trying to help them out. We went to the bank the check was orignally from but the clerk said that they didn't accept 2 party checks.....still confused about that. So being the nice person I am I endorsed the back of the check at my bank on my account. The girl who wrote the check stopped payment on it and now the bank is suing me for an overdraft checking account! Is there anything I can do to get the girl who wrote the check responible?

Sue her in small claims court.

By endorsing the check with your name, you basically became a guarantor on the check. As such, you are responsible for repaying the bank. Then, you can file a lawsuit against your 'friend' to try to recover the funds from her.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Pay the $900 bucks. You participating in a check kiting scheme as far as the bank is concerned.
