Just wanted to give credit where it's due re: ATT Corporate shuffle thread.
I successfully got my account balance adjusted to $0. In addition, ATT is notifing the CA and the credit reporting agencies that the account is indeed current. This is tentative at this point, I am awaiting written confirmation promised by both the CA and ATT.
I was able to get the desired results through patience, many phone calls, and the help of Halket.
While it is true that I didn't necessarily care for the advice I may have received, the opportunity to bounce my troubles off of someone with apparent knowledge in the subject matter was tremendously helpful. With Halket's assistance, I got my ducks in a row, so to speak, before further contact with ATT. He forced me to get my facts straight and to do the necessary research to achieve my goal.
Lessons learned? Don't assume that you'll receive the customer service you expect and don't give up when you know you're right (even when Halket tells you to).
