Those Mugs Got Me!!!!


What is the name of your state? SC
What am I supposed to do about issues regarding 2 cc that i never had but are listed on my credit report and when i tried to contact mbna i am told that they have gone out of business. do i just pay the collecting agency that have the acct , what am i to do?

If they are truly NOT YOURS then dispute them with the credit bureaus and such and if you've been the victim of identity fraud then you also need to spell that out too.

What do you mean MBNA says they're out of business ?? Surely not MBNA.. so WHO is out of business here ?

thank u ladynred -they are not mine and the thing is , is that i only have a certain amount of time to either fix them or set up a payment plan for this job that i really want with the federal gov. if i pay them can i dispute it later if i have proof that they don't belong to me?

If you pay them you are as much admitting that they are yours and it will NOT help your credit any. Call the credit bureaus and dispute them over the phone, and MAKE SURE you specify that they were due to ID theft.

Thanks again only , i have until the 15th to deal with them.and i can't even get in touch with the credit collection agencies to do or say anything about them showing up on my report!!I guess i'll just call the CRA and do it that way.
