Question

I rented a car.i was arested and the car was impounded,my wife went to get the car and the rental car co.denied her autherizion to pick up the car. the towing service had the car for 4 days. since the rental co denied my wife to pick up the car on fri am i responsible for the four days of impound charges & cleaning fees they added to my credit card? impound charges were for fri-mon @ $150.00/day & $75.
00 for cleaning fees.I live in texas.
I understand that the car was rented in my name. But can they just add these charges to my credit card without my approval? .And if they would have allowed my wife to pick up the car there would have only been a one day impound charge "heck" she was already at the towing yard at that time with the cash in hand to get the car out.But the rental co wouldnt let her take care of it.alls she had to do is get the car out, go to the rental co and sign her name to my rental agreement. They chose to let the car sit for 4 days not us.

I am so missing something here. Yes, you do owe it. Why? Because you rented the car, not your wife.
