i live in south carolina and i am having major problems with the loan companies here in my town. first of all,i am up to date on all of my accounts. the problem is that if my bill is due on a wednesday & i don't get paid until saturday--the loan companies call me repeatedly at home, at work, at the neighbors. because of this, i checked out the fair credit debt act and wrote all of them, asking not to call me at either place. since then i have had several accounts come up for re-financing and when i went to have them re-financed, i was told that they couldn't do it since they had no way of getting in touch with me.

is this legal? it seems to me that i'm being punished for standing up to them and getting them off my back. what's the point of making my payments on time when i'm being treated worse than some of their bad customers. can anybody give me some advice/info on this? if this is a law that the loan companies can do this, it looks like it should be included in the fair debt collection act so people would know about it.
