Question
I had a judgment against me which I intend to pay. I would like to know if there is any way to remove the judgment from the public record. And if so do I need to take action before or after I satisfy this judgment? I live in California.

My response:

You have up to 6 months, under Code of Civil Procedure section 473(b), to vacate a judgment for cause. So, if you don't want this judgment on your credit reports, you need to file your Motion to Vacate Judgment before you satisfy the debt.
