Verifying DebtWhat is the name of your state? CA I received a letter from CareCredit, I guess it is a branch of Citi Group. I sent them a letter to validate this debt. My wife or myself do not remember obtaining this credit. Withen the 30 days they sent me a letter saying that there was an error on there part and will remove this debt from their records and the 3 credit reporting agencies. 20 days after the 30 days they have to prove it is your debt they sent me this letter explaining how companies make mistakes. They sent uneligable photo copies showing my wifes signature as proof of the debt. She had some dental work done and the dentist uses them to get paid and the monthly payments are sent to Care Credit. My question is since they orginally said they would remove the debt am I still liable? They sent the proof in 55 days well beyond the 30 days. |

| The FDCPA does NOT mandate a time limit for a creditor to send validation, so the 30 days is a limit that we consumers impose only. 55 days is actually amazingly fast. How long ago was this work done ?? The SOL for suing to collect a debt in CA is FOUR years. If its been more than 4 years, you can tell this collection agency to take a flying leap as the debt would be time-barred.
