VIctim of Stolen Identity

i have recently found out that a person that is very close to me has opened a lot of credit cards in my name and has not paid any of the bills. i think they have recently filed a bankruptcy in my name also. now i have the creditors calling and harrassing me and threating to have my paychecks garnished, etc... i keep telling them that i did not open these accounts. is there anyway that i can have the credit cards that the person has opened removed from my credit and onto their credit? i am a full-time college student working two jobs, trying to pay some of the bills, but it is just too much. what can i do? how can i prove to these companies that i did not open these accounts or authorize this person to open these accounts, when they have my correct social security number, date of birth, address, and phone number?

You need to go to the police and file a fraud report. Tell 'em the whole story and let the chips fall where they may.
Next, fax a copy of the police report to the cc companies along with a statement that you are a victum of fraud and they need to began an investigation. Again, tell 'em the whole story. Ask them to provide you with a copy of the application to compare signatures.
Now, call all 3 CRA's and get a fraud alert placed on your account. If you still have a problem, see a lawyer. Good luck. You got a lot of work ahead of you.

How close is the person to you that did this? If you know who they are and can prove it - GO TO THE POLICE
