Wage garnishment for this type of debt is not allowed in PA.

This site will give you some info on PA collection laws:

Just keep in mind, collection agencies LIE, LIE, LIE ! They like to use fear and intimidation to make a victim pay up, and losing wages scares people. So, since the moron from the CA is making a threat of legal action that they CANNOT legally take, he's racking up violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)... for which your MOM could sue THEM !!

Remember also.. no one can garnish ANYTHING unless they sue you and win a judgment FIRST.. any threats that imply otherwise are pure BULL.

"need to know if a credit card company is permitted to attach wages in the state of pa."
*** Though Zipper's post was accurate, it was missing a critical element. NO creditor (credit card or otherwise) has the inherent right to garnish wages ANYWHERE (not just in PA). In order to get the right to garnish wages, that creditor MUST first have a judgment against you. And that judgment gives them specific rights that they would not normally have. That includes the right to garnish wages (where allowed), seize property, and levy/seize non-exempt assets.

BTW, PA exempts wages from garnishment.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Yes, you did. My error. I put your name in my post in error (seems that I am thinking of you a LOT lately ). In any case, I have corrected my post to name the proper person.
Mea Culpa!
