I have been disabled for 12 yrs now and my husband just recently got his disability, our problem is that we have racked up credit card bills and have tried to make the payments but can't, we have let them go. At one time we were gonna file bankruptsy but didnt but the lawyer at the time told us just not to pay the credit cards and eventually they will leave us alone because since we receive disability payments they can't sue us, is this true? we live in Missouri. Thanks for any advice you can give. By the way we have about 8 credit cards.
