Question

What do you think?

What is the name of your state? Georgia

I have a Mastercard with just over $1600 on it. I am currently $500+ over the credit limit. This has happened due to unforseen medical expenses and car repairs. The issuing bank was purchased by another bank and now the new bank has sent me a letter telling me to pay the over-limit ammount ASAP. No threat of any action beyond that yet. I am making the minimum payment, sometimes double that every month and have rarely been late. Do you guys think that as long as I continue to do so, they will not try to take me to court? I realize that nobody has a crystal ball on these things, but maybe Halknet, or anybody else could give me some input based on their experience. BTY, the new bank is aware of my situation and has said nothing other than we will note it on your account. Thanks in advance.

There is really no way to determine the likelihood of whether a creditor will pursue legal action or not. However, I can say that GENERALLY:
1) If the lender believes you are making an honest effort to repay the debt and paying the most you can, they will usually settle for the payments you are making, and
2) Most creditors would rather accept an honest repayment effort than to go through the expense and time to take the debtor to court.

Keep making your best payments and hopefully they will recognize that you are making your best effort to repay them.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Do you have any other way to pay this card off? Another cc with available balance for a BT, a loan from family and friends? I can't believe I'm saying this but, could you go to someplace like Household Finance or, The Associates { or any subprime lender} and borrow enough to pays this card? Those over the limit fees plus, the hideous interest rate will make it practically impossible to pay off just making minimums.
I agree with Halket, they likely won't send you to collections because they're making way too much money off of this account.
