How do I get back on my feet?

I have been seperated from my husband over 1 year now, have not filed for divorce yet. Our debts we had together somehow have become only mine now. I am way over my head around $15,000 in credit card debts. Between the over the limit fee's and the finance charge, my monthly payment doesnt even cover it. It seems the more I pay the more I still owe. I consolidated my debts at one point but since I got behind on the payment that was cancelled.

I am seriously thinking of filing for bankruptcy. Is there another way I can get out of debt and still provide for my kids?

To begin with, examine all of your options. Are you getting child support and are you currently working?

Have you tried contacting your credit cards? Most credit card companies offer a hardship program. Where they will stop all late payment, over the limit fees, and even interest charges... Just call them and ask if you haven't already. Some might work with you and some might not.
