What is the name of your state? FL
For about several months now I couldn't pay my credit card companies and I want my husband to put my name in the title. We were having marital problems and we were almost going to divorce. Now he wants to come back but I want to make sure that he doesn't sell the house I live in while I am away. I am planning a trip to Ireland for 2 to 3 months this summer. If we get the house under my name or under a joint name, can the creditors get the house? Thanks in advance.

The creditors can NOT get your house. FL has a 100% homestead exemption.
And you should also check to see if this transfer will trigger the immediate due and payable clause found in most mortgages that happens when real property is conveyed.
