Wish To Pay Old Debt

What is the name of your state? Washington

I have a slight problem. I have an old debt (1.5 yrs old) that is $327.95 to an old bank account of mine that I used to have. I am aware that delayment of this scale has very much screwed up my credit line, and I just have to allow time to fix that. But I wish to open up an account at a new bank. I am aware that the banking system has a telephone number that they can call to see if thier prospective customer owes any bank any amount of money. The question that I have is, how do I go about paying off this debt now that i finally have the money without any police action, or court summons. I can have them 100% of thier money in 72 hours from 09/15/2003 09:30. If I just show up and give them my personal acct info, and give them cash for the outstanding balance, will I have any worries? I am worried because I have not communicated with them for the duration of the outstanding debt, and have actually avoided communication by not providing a current address. How do you advise I get out of this situation that I have created. I realize I messed up, but I wish to correct it. Please help. Thank you.

If you have the money this is what I would do. I'd go and talk with the bank, maybe call their collections office. Let them know you have the money to pay off the debt completely, and in return for you paying it all off right now you'd like them to remove any negative tradelines from your credit reports. They may agree to this, but make sure that you get something in writing.

If you're willing to pay you'll find that some creditors will be willing to work with you.

And make sure that they will also include removing negatives from any bank service companies, like ChexSystems, etc.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

JETX -

I ususally lump ChexSystems and TeleCheck in with the CRAs, they fall under CRAs for the FDCPA per the reading I've done. But, I guess 99% of the folks out there wouldn't know it. And they are CAs as well. Nasty pieces of work those two.

I hate TeleCheck BTW
