The Worst Situation ever.. I guess Please Help!

What is the name of your state? SC,OH

Hi,
I was an international student when I first came to US 5 years back. I had to go back to my home country in 2000 and I missed payments and my accounts were sent to collection. I never had a earning job to take care of my credit cards. After 4 years, I am now in a position to finally think of paying them. I have a debt of about $10,000 and since I haven't paid any amount for the past 4 years, all of them are either in repossession, Collections or Charged off. I wanted to find out the right way to approach paying these accounts. I mean which website to go to or which program to enter or do I contact the collection agencies by myself. Is there any way to pay the whole $10,000 over 7-8 months and hope to have a decent credit history again soon? Right now my score is 546. I am married and I earn a decent amount now and I hope someone will guide me in the right direction. Every debt consolidation company happens to impress me but I didnt wanna step into something and then repenting later. I am at a stage where I can afford to pay $1000 towards debt payment each month.

Please advice.

Thanks,
Derf

Do NOT use the debt consolidation places. They are a rip-off.

Try this website for answers: http://www.creditboards.com

Derf? You're not related to Tim Conway's midget golf guy, are you?
