Is it worth it?

California

I wasn't sure if this is the correct board to post this in, but here it is.

My Delema:

April of last year I signed up a "Friend" to my cell phone plan. He had gone through the typical routine of promising he would pay on time and so on. Time went on, he paid somewhat ontime, but soon a problem gave birth.

He went to Chicago for a week, racking up hours of chargable minutes, and roaming charges. He somehow got the roaming charges removed, but the minutes were still charged.

Getting to the point. Overall charges made to his phone summed up to $1900. He put in some effort in the biginning and gave me $200. Since then he has not provided any type of payment. Because of the fact that he had lost his job and had some personal issues I had gave him some time to get himself collected. Now 6 months later, delay after delay, call after call, I feel that I have gave him more than enough slack.

The question is, by taking him to small calims court, do I stand a fighting chance to collect these charges from him or am I stuck witht he bill because it was charged on MY account? I do have the bills, and all the calls made. I also have a witness at the time of purchase whom was present when the mutual agreement was made for the phone.

Any assistance is appreciated,

Allen

Gee, could it be because you posted this to THREE different forums???

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Two actually. The third is a response to another persons thread.

I do appologize though. I thought perhaps that I was posting in an invalid forum and my post was being ignored. Again, I'm sorry for the extra posts.
