my mom passed away recently and i am now alone. can i get stuck having to pay for her medical bills, past IRS bills, and any other bills that i don't know about; and can this effect my credit as i get older?

oh yeah, i live in IA now but at the time i lived in MS. can the laws relating to this vary from state to state?
