with the financial crisis going on now in the US,is my husband's retirement ok?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA
My husband has been with his company for 31 years & his retirement is based on profit sharing. Will the financial crisis the USA is going through affect his retirement?
