What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL

I was offered an amendment to my contract one month ago which would increase my base salary. I agreed and signed it, but then one month later it was retracted by the administration of our organization. It was never signed by our CEO. Do I have any legal recourse? Does it matter that the organization is a not-for-profit?
