What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
We are located in Texas which currently has deregulation. We have several businesses in several states and weren't aware of the situation inTX. We had an employee who w/o our knowledge signed a 48 mo agreement with an electric company. When we opened up a second business in the the same area, I was looking at several of the electric companies and compaired what we were paying. We actually got set up on a 6 month agreement paying half what we were with the 48 mo agreement, so we cancelled and first location and got set up with the cheaper company. We were never told when canceling that we were under contract. What if any liabilities do we have to the old company. We paid our last/final bill and thougth we were done only to have a 5900 early termination fee  be applied a month later. PLEASE HELP!!What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Sounds to me like you owe the $5,900.00 (based only on what you posted)
