What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee

I signed an agreement when starting employment that states if I voluntarily leave before a year, I would repay training costs of $5K. Agreement is between myself and the Corporation.

Today, they are merging with another company and have changed the name and owners.

Is the contract still binding? I see no provisions for transfer of the document.

Wondering and needing to decide. We have been given 4 hours to decide if we wish to sign with the new corporation... (that's fair and reasonable time to consult an attorney, right? /SARCASM)
