No, you were rude.

Perhaps it's an error to respond to an old post. Though, if the poster gets an email notice of the reply, then, why not give her the information? I mean, it's not a social website, it's free advice. In this case, legal advice that is just as relevant to the poster 6 months later, as the statute of limitation on a claim, if she had one, is 3 years. Four is she brings a UCL claim. And, since it's her income at issue.

So, you (or Zinger) could have simply politely said that practice in this forum was not to respond to posts older than ___.

But, you didn't. And instead of being polite about it, you discouraged a first time poster from participating (since, why bother if it means having people be pissy with you?)

What I said was: This thread is over 6 months old. Don't necropost.

There was not attitude and no rudeness.

If you are an attorney, as you claim to be, then you really need thicker skin.
