What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

The senario is as followed: We rented a dedicated hosting server from XCompany.com (fake name). We shut the box off after a fight in May. Our hosting would have been until June 9th. The paypal subscription wasn't stopped and it sent him a payment for a box we no longer rent. He said thank you for the donation and kept the money. Is there any law against this? Paypal refuses to refund the money. Please advise us.

Do you have a contract with this company? How much did they receive? Why wasn't the paypal subscription stopped?

Depending on the amount of money involved you may be able to sue them in small claims court if you have a valid legal defense.

What reason did Paypal give for not refunding the money?
