My husband was a small % owner in an LLC. They agreed to part ways in July. The company agreed to pay him for his 'shares' over 24 months. We do have the agreement in writing. It was drafted by a lawyer. If/when they cease to make the payments - they are late in payment this month and we doubt they ever intended to pay in full - do we have legal recourse? If the company stops paying or goes under can we put a lien on a small plane the principal owner purchased in the company name? As a debt holder, do we need to wait for a certain default period? How is a lien filed? ThanksWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
