What is the name of your state? CA

We are in the process of selling our franchise. The franchisor, which is a Washington company, has stated that the buyers of our store will have to sign a new, current franchise agreement. The new agreement drastically alters the territory we purchased as part of our original franchise agreement to a MUCH smaller Market Area.

Is this compliant with California law, or is the franchisor required to transfer the territory as agreed in our original franchise agreement to the new buyers in the state of CA?
