Hi

I'm a subcontractor and have completed a job for a general contractor.
I have a contract for the original job. After completing the contract, they asked for a quote for additional work. They approved my quote and I've completed that extra work as well. I filed a preliminary notice for the total amount. They then sent me a check for the contracted work amount only. Along with the check/payment they included a form, "Unconditional Waiver and Release on Progress Payment."

I have not been paid for the additional work. By signing this form do I lose my lien rights for the additional work?
It doesn't really seem like the form is intended only for the contracted work, but rather for the entire job.

RE: If you have not been paid, use a conditional waiver and release form.

There is my problem, because I have been paid...but not entirely, not for the additional work.

Please advise.

Thank you.
