What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota

In Minnesota, is a verbal resignation by a member of a board/council of a nonprofit considered a legal resignation? In this case there are no stipulations in the governing documents of the organization requiring a written resignation.

That would depend on the circumstances. What is clear is you tendered it. If witnessed, they could say NO TAKEE BACKEES. They might need it in writing. If you wish to resign, You should not have a problem with doing so. If you did it on the spur of the moment, you may have answered their blessings.
