Who here is responsible for a/c?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Los Angeles, California.

This is for my boss'. They opened their first business about 6 months back. They been having issues with the a/c I been there first hand. Today the store reached 100 degrees inside and a few of the supplies got a bit melted. It is a yogurt shop. First of all the air conditioning NEVER worked. I even had an employee of a business upstairs say theirs isn't too great and the spot my boss' have is the worst. The landlord/owner of the plaza bought a portable a/c, that is utter ugh doesn't work okay. They had it up inside the wall, the tubing so the hot air goes somewhere. But anyways a few weeks ago, that wasn't working too right. It just blows HOT air now, so its being turned off. Then my boss discovered the "a/c" switch we are suppose to have on, because it supposedly works is blowing hot air too into the shop too. So instead of closing at 11. They closed at 7:50 I was there yes it was hot, but I'm use to hot weather it didn't bother me. Customers first thing they said though was, "it is so hot in here, I never been in a hot yogurt shop, do you not have a/c" etc.

The "guy" that supposedly fixes everything wrong with each unit doesn't seem to know what he is doing, because they been complaining since day 1. It never gets fixed. I heard that the whole a/c thing had to be repaired because it wasn't working. So my boss' had their lease agreement checked, says their responsible for the a/c. When I'm like okay, so if they decide they don't want this spot some time from now, they just throw a whole lot of money out for a building that is not theirs?!

The landlord/owner of the plaza even came on a hot day once and said, oh its not hot. He was standing at the door way and people that day were saying oh my God it is so hot! So he just doesn't care.

I mean I feel bad, its their first business they really can't afford a brand new a/c thing. I just hope they aren't really screwed.

I also think he is being racist though, that is another thing, but I think in some way he won't even try a thing is because of that.
