What is the name of your state? California

I recently bought a house following probate - parents died & left the daughter as executor - she lived in the house until it sold. She left it filthy, which I expected (I did get a good deal), but she also left loads of her stuff behind. She obvously didn't want it - it's all junk. I wanted to haul it to the dump, but my real estate agent says I have to hold it for 30 days before I can to this. Both the garage and storage rooms are full of her junk, so I can't put my own possessions away. Is my agent correct in California law? Thank you.
