Accidentally did the Realtor Wrong**************..What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?FL My friend is selling her house through a flat fee "help you sell your house" realtor. He put lame ads for the house in the paper and got no results so my friend put an ad in herself with a fancy heading and was at a loss when the paper asked for the phone number and just gave them her cell phone number. She has then gotten lots of calls about the house but always tells them to call her realtor to make an appointment to see it. The realtor found out and is mad, says giving her phone number is illegal and he can get into trouble. Does anyone know how this was illegal and how likely it is anyone will get in trouble for a stupid mistake on my friend's part? Thanks! |

| This realtor is an idiot. Did your 'friend' sign a representation agreement or a flat fee contract? It would be best if she came here to discuss the contract or take it to a real estate attorney for review.

| And it is not illegal. Tell that idiot to post here the section of the Florida law that confirms such action is illegal. Last edited by HomeGuru; 01-30-2005 at 10:17 PM. |

| I guess Heather could always apologize profusely to the agent and then ask him/her if they know the number of a real estate agent that doesn't care about making too much money ![]()

| Thanks alot everybody! The realtor is an idiot. My friend did sign a disclosure statement by the way, and a flat fee agreement. I don't think it will be an issue at this time anymore, she did refer anybody who called to her realtor and there is an offer on the house today that came from the better add SHE placed. But at the the time that he was spouting off the illegal crap we got a little worried. Thanks again so much! |

**A: and for the future- compare the services offered by the flat fee broker with that to a full service broker. |
